Picture Day!

Well, I started my internship yesterday. I'm interning at an area high school in the Learning Resource Center. It's 12 hours a week, 0-credits, paid, and so far I love it. I won't get to do much along the lines of career resources (my job description) for a few more weeks but I don't mind.

The school I'm placed in is huge! Well, for me anyways. It has 21 doors, all numbered. So far I know about 3 of the hallways. My high school definitely did NOT have 21 doors and we only had 3 hallways. I came from a class of around 80, this school has about 1,400 students. Big difference. Well anyways, I only go in to my internship two days a week and have class the other days. Because of the way our class schedule works here I'll have a day off every other week :)

Today was not my day to go in but I had to for a bit. Why? Well it was picture day! How exciting. It's been 4 full years since my last picture day. My picture had to be taken so that they could have an ID card made for me. What fun! Really... had my day stopped there I would have considered it a very good day.

Fortunately my day did not stop there. I had a piano lesson at 3 pm at SJU and I drove over. My roommate has a class until 3:50 so I wait for her and give her a ride back because the bus line at 3:50 is the worst. Around the time we met up outside the buildings it was begin to down pour, and we had about a 10-minute walk ahead of us. It was the most fun I've had in a while. By the time we got to my car we were drenched so we borrowed a towel from our friend who lives on the lower campus -- that didn't really help. Our drive home consisted of a stop at the farmer's market (I decided to stay in the car this week but Steph can't go without her tomatoes) and a stop at the liquor store for peppermint schnapps. I'm planning a cozy night in the apartment with my roommates filled with a home-cooked meal, hot chocolate with the schnapps and a movie or two. I can't wait!

Here's Steph and I upon entry to our apartment.
You can't quite tell just how wet we were but my jeans are about 7 shades lighter than this and our clothes felt like they were heavy enough to just fall off. Oh, and I was wearing leather sandals and Steph was wearing suede shoes. Great decision on both our parts.
