Perez

This weekend I was going to get a lot done. I went to the Farmer's Market Friday and bought a pie pumpkin and went home and cooked it. Then I decided I wasn't going to go out at all except for Friday happy hour at the pub. I didn't make it to happy hour but I did go out. We had a great night and after the bar about 6 or 7 of us made macaroni and cheese and pizza which we call "bof." Despite my 3 am bedtime I still woke up at 8 am. I forced myself back to sleep and finally got up at 10:26 am to a quiet apartment. 1 roommate was working, 1 was in the library (already) and the other was asleep. I spent about 2 hours washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning the stove, and cleaning the bathroom and my bedroom. What a morning.

By lunch my other roommate, Steph, woke up and we both have been talking about needing jeans since school started so we decided to head to town as I also needed groceries to finish making my pumpkin pies. We stopped by the bookstore where our roommate works and said hi. She was getting off work at 2:30 so we spent an hour and a half trying on jeans... LOTS of jeans until she got off work. Not a fun afternoon for me... which transitions nicely into a quick rant--

I HATE JEAN SHOPPING. I'm not asking for extremely fashionable jeans, just ones that fit. This whole skinny jean fad has gone too far! I do not appreciate walking in to a store and only finding skinny jeans. I will never wear them and therefore find it frustrating that those are my only options!!! Finally, Steph drug me to the women's section in a department store and after I proved to her that those would never fit me because I'm 5'3'' she introduced me to the petite women's section. Why did I never think of that before? I found a great new pair of jeans and I'm happy. That's all.

Anyways, after jean shopping I went to the grocery store while the others made a craft store stop. What did Steph come home with? A wooden peacock... of course. By now it's about 3:30 or 4:00 and we still haven't started our homework. Instead, Steph begins painting the peacock and I begin my pies. By about 9:30 the peacock was finished and we all contributed to the look of his beautiful feathers. We named him Perez....

By 11:30pm I finally put in a movie I had to watch for class thus beginning my homework for the weekend. Needless to say I spent A LOT of time on homework Sunday. :/ Oh well... I'm just trying to put extra time into my homework now to work ahead since I'm missing class Friday... My sister's getting married!!!!!

Here she is with her fiance, Todd

Expect an update and pics after this weekend :)
