Tonight's our last night here at our Comfort Inn in Oak Hill, WV as tomorrow we move to our set-up hotel in Charleston. Our time-off has been relaxing and a good chance for us to have "crew time" without the stress and sleep deprivation of camp week sitting on our shoulders.
Here's an overview of our last few days:
Here's an overview of our last few days:
On Sunday the plan was to go horseback riding, whitewater rafting, etc. but at about 9:45 am as I was in the shower Melissa informed me through the bathroom door that Travis and Brett's MC was in the hospital and they needed our help. Travis and Brett were the 2 summer staff who had the first week of camp off so they stayed to help us. It was now our chance to return the favor. So we put on our redshirts and drove an hour down to Montgomery. The day went by fine but a stressful situation or two may have come up in the evening. We left Montgomery at 9:00 pm with only breakfast and a lot of mints in our stomachs. We headed to Bob Evans (a crew favorite) for supper and then onto the hotel.
Yesterday we drove about a half hour or so into Beckley to mail our CIB back to Loveland and then decided to spend the day there. I shared my first Chick-fil-A experience with my crew and then onto Kohl's we went. Here, Brandon proceeded to pick out outfits for us girls to try on and we did sort of a little mini fashion show. Thinking the day couldn't get any better Melissa and I discovered the make-up testing section. While our crew was wandering the store doing who knows what, we put on some absolutely gorgeous make-up that consisted of colors such as aquamarine, fuschia, rose petal, and glamourazzi. As soon as I can get the pictures from Laura I'll post those. But after our crew found us putting the finishing touches on our make-up we found some dresses and workout clothes and Melissa and I went on to do another fashion show. Then on to Rue 21 where we discovered the graphic tees. Each of us girls bought ones that clearly reflected some characteristic of our being. Only people who know me well may find my shirt funny, but it's black with an x-ray view of ribs on it. For those of you who don't know me well...I have a fear of ribs (or "ribbies"). Not to be rude, but don't ask, I won't explain. We then did a short visit to the mall, got some dip-n-dots, and headed home.
Today we headed back to our last school and painted the ceiling tile I mentioned earlier. After painting it, breaking it, and gluing it, we put it back in the ceiling and left there for good knowing we had left our mark on MTHS forever. We then dropped Melissa and Laura off at whitewater rafting and went to Wal-mart and a beautiful outlook (which I'll post pictures of). It was a good day that ended in a Chinese buffet for supper. And now, some more PICTURES...
This is our tile, and yes, we do realize there's an error
Laura and Melissa in Montgomery as we're finishing up our final project...and they even had a smile left in them :)
Here's Laura as we're heading out of MTHS Saturday morning
This is just a fun one I hadn't posted yet. This is my puppy, Sophie, through the rearview mirror as she enjoyed a ride in the convertible
