El Fin

Finally, we are at the end!

That sounds like I'm begin negative. I'm not. I've had a GREAT time and I'm so glad I've been blessed to have this opportunity. I have a lot of mixed emotions and feelings right now but I think the one that wins out overall is exhaustion. No more than 3 nights in the same place, a backpack, spending money like it grows from the stench of our clothes and bodies, not having anything clean and not caring... all of it just gets to be too much after a while. I have a lot of great memories and I can't wait to share more stories with all of you when I see you.

I'm trying to prepare myself for the culture shock that I know I'll experience as I've experienced them after 2 other trips as well, but I just really don't know what to expect. I'm ready to get back to my real life but I've been living this one, abroad with everything foreign to me for 4 1/2 months now and how strange will it be to be in a place where I know and am familiar with everything? I'm going to know the people around me and nothing will be new. Leah, Kendra and I have been talking and we think the one thing we hope when we get home is that you all will have patience. We've lost our ability to speak good English. It sounds ridiculous but it's true. We make the goofiest grammatical mistakes and conjugate our verbs wrong pretty often for being native English speakers. And then there's sentence structure. Whew! Please. Have patience!

Well, that's all for now. I hope all is well back on the homefront as I will be back there tomorrow at 5:55 pm Central time!!!!!!!
