Barcelona

Estoy escribiendo de Barcelona! I love this city. It´s absolutely beautiful and full of life. Gaudi had quite a big influence on this city and his work is everywhere. After being on a bus from 6:30 am to something like 5:30 pm yesterday we arrived at Parque Guell. I was there in 2005 when I was in Spain with my HS Spanish Club and it was fun to walk around and see it again. Last night we went out to a club down by the beach and it was a lot of fun except for the part when we feared our lives walking there. We got there by way of Las Ramblas which is a really cool street during the day, but we found out that´s not the case at night. We were in a group of 8 and were constantly being hissed, clicked, whistled, and hollered at while also having the ¨street beer sellers¨ follow us. And did I mention there were prostitutes? Needless to say we take a cab home when we left the club a little before 4 am.

We spent all day today walking around the Gothic part of the city, eating gelato, and thinking about the siesta that laid ahead. We´re back at the hotel now eating lunch from the 24 hour buffet and then I´m headed to take my siesta. We´re taking our director, Gladys, out tonight, or perhaps I should say she´s taking us out? As nice as it would be to sleep a full night in a really comfortable bed... I´m in Barcelona.
