El piano
Well, since I began playing piano many years ago I've never had to go too long without playing. And by too long I'm talking about maybe a month. Since I'll be in Europe for 4 1/2ish months I brought my books with in hopes of finding a piano here. Gladys, our director, is wonderful and asked around at the University and we found a piano, the only piano. It's electronic and in the music room. (Note: THEE music room, as in the only music room in the entire university) So Gladys gets me a key and tells me where to find it. The next day I go searching. Here's how I get to it... Open the old creaky door that leads into an old church which is currently only used for things such as graduation. For this reason, the church is empty and dark but has bright red banners hanging along the sides. So I go into the church and walk up onto the left side of the altar to find another old and creaky door that is to the old sacristy. This is where I get my key out, struggle to make it turn, and then enter into nothing but a modern day music room. There's the professor's desk, the piano, music chairs and stands, and a little table with a coffee maker and 2 bottles of wine. The first day I used the room I was almost too scared to open the door but when I did it was great. How random though?

They use the little room off of the main church hall for choir practice. The choir professor (at least when I was there two years ago) is kind of crazy!
I hope that you're enjoying Segovia-- I really miss it! Be sure to check out Limon y Menta in the Plaza Mayor, it has the best pastries ever! I loved the tarta de fresas!

I met him for shortly on our first day here but haven´t talked to him since. Were you in the choir here? And, I´ll definitely go check out Limon y Menta!
There were a handful of us who were in choir for a few weeks, but the director was so mean to everyone (even the Spaniards) that we quit! Oh well, it definitely an experience. Tell Gladys that I say hi! She's the best, we all loved her (but be careful following her around on excursions-- she doesn't have the best sense of direction :) )!
