Am I excited? Yes.
Do I have a roommate? No. I have a 1 bedroom apartment about a mile from campus. It's near the lake and right on the bus route. The building is from the 1930's and therefore my apartment is all wood floor accompanied by a brick fireplace and claw-foot bathtub.
Do I have any friends in Madison? Exactly 2. Which is 2 more than I had when I first moved to St. Ben's.
Will anybody help me move out there? Yes. My parents. My dad is pulling an enclosed trailer that is currently sitting in our driveway and packed full of furniture. My mom will take a separate vehicle as she's going to stay with me an extra day or two to settle in. Then I'll have my own car. Between the 3 vehicles I'm beginning to question whether it'll be enough room. My dad made the comment tonight that we should've just rented a Uhaul (I would've chosen a Ryder, but that's just me). Uhaul or Ryder, though, he's probably right. In 2 cars and the back of a truck we still have to fit a desk, table, piano, and a large stack of boxes and bins. I don't know where all of this stuff came from, but it somehow landed in my possession and now needs to be transported with me.
When do classes begin and what's my class schedule like? September 2 with a day of orientation on August 24. I have 4 classes for 3 hours each once a week. That means I have 2 classes on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday, and one on Thursday followed by a 4 day weekend.
Will I get a job? Yes. Currently I'm thinking of serving in a nice restaurant. I learned just this morning that 50% of my friends in Madison may have the right connections :)
Will I make new friends there? Between you and me... I love the ones I already have, so we'll see.
How long is my program? 2 years including next summer.
What is my program? Counseling Psychology and I believe I'll be choosing the "school" track which would put me on track to becoming a school counselor.
